Outdoor activities galore

A great day saw all the kids take part in cycling through the woods, take part in archery and compete an obstacle course, where the staff also took part in a race against the kids! We won!!!
It ended with 12 of us walking across the white cliffs to South Foreland lighthouse for our own private guided tour of it. Very interesting.

A peaceful night, an early morning!

All the kids were in bed, for their first night, by 10:30 - meaning the adult had a peaceful nights sleep. A shame that the sun rose at 4:30 and most of the kids didn't know it was 4:30! That early morning light can be decieving!

We are now all at Fowlmeads waiting to start our days outdoor. Look out on Twitter for a possible adult vs children assault course race later in the day!

Evening walk

Off we go for the first activity with the second group, back to the abbey, but this time into the trees and up a hill for one of Mr Saunders' legendary stories!

The sun is out!

What a lovely morning at the Abbey. Ice cream was flowing and everyone completed the quiz, getting most of the answers correct!
Group photo time.

Reunited

The happy, fresh-faced new campers have arrived! All together and getting ready for a day together in Kearsney Abbey.
The sun shining!!!

Part 1 of the week has been a 100% success. Well done guys and girls.

Tuesday 9 June 2015

What a day!

Despite the chill factor in that North Eastern wind, we had a full on day down at Fowlmeads. Archery was canceled due to high winds, but that did not dampen the spirits of all taking part in a cycle ride through the woods, getting on their hands and knees to complete an obstacle course, and bringing out everyone's competitive side in a geocaching competition!
A brilliantly fun day leaving lots of tired little, and big people!

Sleeping soundly

What a peaceful night! All was quiet by 11:30pm and everyone seems well rested.
Check out Twitter for what treat the staff got before the kids emerged!
On our way to an outdoor adventure day at Fowlmeads.

Bonfire and storytime

All the kids have been for a walk through Kearsney Abbey (I'm sure they will tell you the story they heard when they get home!) and now, around a bonfire, we are listening to a Mr Saunders' story special!

Day 1

What a day! We were off and away on our first outting by 9:30 this morning, to Dover castle.
The kids enjoyed a tour of the war time and medieval tunnels (albeit the latter being given by the teachers!!) and we had a look around the main castle keep.
Two ghost stories and a picnic later it was time to head to Tides.
Well done to Mr Saunders, Mr Wickham, Mr Senft and Mrs Parrett who managed to keep the ball away from 40 children in a game of 'piggy in the middle' for nearly the whole two hours! That should help them sleep tonight (kids and adults!!)

Arrival

Nearly all set up. Tents are tidy, for now!
